Specs and First Look at the 2022 Indian Scout Rogue
Indian has just showcased the latest addition to its scout lineup- the 2022 Scout Rogue and Scout Rogue Sixty. The new Rogue’s looks are: a quarter fairing, mini ape-hanger handlebars, a new solo seat, and a cast 19-inch front wheel. Both Rogue and Rogue Sixty models share this accessory suite, but are differentiated by the available color options, tank badges, and more importantly, the 69ci engine in the Scout Rogue, and the 60ci engine in the Sixty.
Since its introduction in 2015, many have appreciated the Scout model as a somewhat traditional cruiser with approachable ergonomics and a muscular liquid-cooled engine. In Cycle World’s performance testing, a 2020 Scout Bobber produced a measured 82.9 hp at 8,000 rpm, and a 2020 Scout Bobber Sixty produced 67.83 hp at 7,140 rpm.
Both Rogues come with the same components as the base Scout Bobber, although tire-wise, Indian opts for Metzelers over Pirelli. Otherwise they have the same chopped fenders, solo seat, and a lowered stance (just 2 inches of travel out back) with single disc brakes and ABS available as an extra-cost option. A chunky 16-inch front tire has been a part of prior Scout models’ signature aesthetic, but that can have a negative effect on handling. “The only caveat with fatter tire width is it contributes to more weight, and in turn heavier steering. Indian’s announcement says, “Scout Rogue exudes performance,” and “bears new “performance-minded features,” though all engine, suspension, and braking components are unchanged from other models in the Scout line.
Aside from the larger front wheel, all of the Scout Rogue’s defining components can be bought as individual accessories through indianmotorcycle.com. The Rogue models are priced higher than the basic Scout, with the big Scout Rogue starting at $11,499 in black and going up to $13,399 in Stealth Gray and ABS included. The Scout Rogue is available in various colors including: Sagebrush Smoke, Black Metallic, Storm Blue, Black Smoke, Black Smoke Midnight, and Stealth Gray.
Riders looking to change up their bike’s performance and styling can also choose a variety of add-ons from Indian Motorcycle accessories in the performance, lighting, style, and comfort categories.
